The state of Colorado has a vast array of wonderful attractions from natural springs to modern bustling cities to great outdoor activities. The state of Colorado is home to the Rocky Mountains with it’s 14,000 foot peaks and gorgeous ski slopes. Admitted, to the union in 1876 as the 38th state in the Union, Colorado is known for its beautiful and rugged mountains, rolling, grassy plains, mesas and expansive and dramatic canyons. The state is home to extreme from extremely beautiful scenery to extreme weather conditions with intense cold and snowfall. Colorado is home to 4 National Parks which include Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mesa Verde National Park and the wonderful, Rocky Mountain National Park. Camping sites in Colorado are plentiful and there is never a shortage of great things to do in the wonderful state of Colorado.
